FAQ

  • What do we do in choir?

Choir, much like band and orchestra, is a class that teaches students music literacy - the ability to read music. Our instrument is our body and we have the privilege of expressing music through both pitch and text. We build a community of student musicians where everyone is welcome and included. Our goal is to make music and have fun.

  • What if I don't know how to sing?

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join from the advaned singer to the beginner! We teach you the skills you need to be successful.

  • How do I join choir?

Sign up for choir on your course selection sheet! It is never too late to change your elective to choir, your director will audition you into the appropriate ensemble.

  • Do we take trips or do socials?

Absolutely - we take multiple trips each year! Our choir council aids in coordinating social opportunities throughout the school year.

  • Do I have to sing alone?

You never have to sing alone. We will perform as an ensemble; however there are many solo or small group opportunities provided to students.

  • How can I get involved as a parent/stakeholder?

We are in the process of creating a Booster Club! This is a great way to support our program financially to provide countless opportunities to our student body. We often need chaperones on trips as well.
